a) a master’s degree in Psychology or in an related area;
b) a bachelor in Psychology or in a related area, as well as an academic or scientific curriculum recognized by the Scientific Committee as assuring the ability to attend this cycle of studies;
c) an academic, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Committee as assuring the ability to attend this cycle of studies.

This preliminary stage of the application process aims to obtain a supervisor and to define the preliminary PhD project and it is only destined to those candidates who have not yet been accepted by a FPCEUP Professor in the framework of the supervision.

 

How to apply (online):

Documents to be submitted in the application:

- Academic certificate with final grades/average
- Curriculum Vitae 
- Supervisor’s/co-supervisor’s declaration of acceptance
- Preliminary research project (see template)
   - Title (and subtitle, if necessary)
   - Abstract (up to 200 words)
   - State of the art (until 500 words)
   - Research objectives (up to 300 words)
   - Detailed description (up to 1000 words)
   - References (up to 20)
- Document where the candidate explains the transferability of knowledge of the proposed project to the scientific community and to the society in general (up to 300 words)

Access conditions to the course:
In accordance with Article 6º of the Regulations for the 3rd cycle of studies in Psychology

Selection and ranking criteria:
- Ranking obtained through the analysis of the CV as well as of the preliminary project and eventually with an interview.
- Weighing:
1 - research activities: 20%;
2 - dissemination of research activities: 20%;
3 - quality of the pre-doctoral project: 40%;
4 - quality of the transferability document: 20%

Observations:
- Candidates with less than 60% in the overall score will be excluded.

Information to applicants on the results:
1) During the period of dissemination of the provisional list, the results are published on the FPCEUP website in "applications".
2) In the period of posting the final results, the candidates are notified by email through the computer system - automatic notification, after the ranking is submitted in SIGARRA.
