OVERVIEW
- Bystanders – Developing bystanders' responses to sexual harassment among young people is a project addressed to the problem of Sexual Harassment (SH) against teenage girls and young women.
- This project aims to implement a Sexual Harassment prevention program in school context, with students and staff, in 4 countries: Portugal, Malta, Slovenia and UK. Is expected that this intervention can be participatory in which young people will be educated on how to act in situations where one is a witness of SH. By the way, the methodology of the project intends to develop intervention materials; training young people and training school staff and has as a final objective the creation of a prevention program in this field.
The Bystanders Project Will:
- Increase knowledge and awareness of SH in students and staff;
- Develop, pilot and deliver a training program for students and school staff to enable them to intervene in situations of SH;
- Increase the motivation of bystanders to stop SH in high schools;
- Develop a manual and materials adapted to each country;
- Develop school policies and protocols on SH;
Compare the implementation and effectiveness of the program in the four countries.
